Macklin 6 Months

Hangry Mack,

Yes, hangry. That is one word I'd use to describe you as you enter the second half of your first year on this earth. If you see Mama eating, you lunge and flail and scream until food is put directly in front of you. Since five and a half months of age, you've managed to consume bananas, sweet potato, butternut squash, peas, beef, pork, chicken, banana muffin, rice cake, and the list goes on. You can sit in the high chair for an hour, as long as the food keeps coming. That isn't to say that at least 75% of what you're offered ends up in your lap or on the floor, but as long as you have the opportunity to try to shove big people food in your tiny baby mouth, your hangriness subsides.

Your lungs really developed this month, with good reason - your first tooth finally popped after quite a few doses of Tylenol and Advil. You're the happiest, sweetest kid, but those teeth turn you into a snarling, drooling monster. And not two weeks after tooth #1 popped up, tooth #2 decided to make an appearance. So now that you've got those chompers, it's time to teach you how to avoid biting me when you nurse. Ouch.

Although you're starting to roll over more and more, you still love being swaddled to sleep. You still sleep in Mama and Daddy's bedroom, but you've graduated from bassinet (it was getting way too small - or you were just getting way to big) to a playpen. We need to finally get doors installed on the upstairs bedrooms so that we can put you in your crib - but realistically, I don't see that happening any time soon.

Sweet, hangry Mack, we love your gentle demeanor, amazing smile, and overall cuteness!

Love,

Mama
