"Has Lexi asked you lately to play talk?"

"No..." Cue my heart breaking into tiny little mama pieces. Lexi grew up a whole lot once she turned three. She's so curious and asks a million questions every day. Her conversation is so sing-song, and sometimes I just sit and listen to her ramble in her own little special way, using spaghetti to measure things. My heart sings when I see her imagination through her interactions with toys; this month, one particular instance stands out: one evening I was putting away her mess, and I spotted one of her little plastic plates with a piece of plastic cake beside a little Rubble figurine. It was just so Lexi. Dance parties on the deck, snuggles with Macklin and treats at Steaming Cup are just a few of the many special moments we shared together this month. We also travelled to Calgary with the Shantz family and experienced the Telus Spark Centre, where Lexi soaked herself playing with a gigantic water table. Mama and Macklin played with some mirrored boxes, and Mr. Mack couldn't get enough of his reflection. It was a wonderful day of discovery (and frozen yogurt before hitting the road to go home!)

Daddy got into a pretty serious car accident this month, and his work truck was written off. He was pulling into our driveway after work when he got hit by a vehicle trying to pass him. We are so fortunate that he got hit on the back of his truck and not the cab. We were all shaken by it but it was a good reminder as to how fragile life actually is.
